What I look for in webbing is the most overlooked thing on the site. Everyone is talking about how their stitching is made of stronger threads. The highest quality webbing is made out of seat belt material. But now some companies put the seat belt welding not just on one side but the top side and the bottom side. I had to look into this because I wante to make sure that the dual webbing wasn't just to protect a mat that was bunk to start with.

The next thing i look for in webbing is how the seat belt material is applied. Different sewing mahchines stitch differently. Just like buying fabric, there can be flaws in the mat or even tears in it. I would hate to think that a company would put extra stitching on the webbing to not let me see the flaws that it is covering up.

The webbing should be strong enough to hold the spring rings where the hooks hold the mat and strongenough that it holds on to the mat.

Straight stitch webbing is the most common. There are some different sewing techniques that can make better stitching but a more expensive process as their are flaws and takes more labor to sew. This is especially if they are using Teflon threading instead of polyheaster threading.
