These are usually the cheap round ones as people just looking for a little back yard fun aren't that picky about their springs, how much carbon it has and the tensile and yield strength of the frame or where the medal is made or if it is cold formed or not.
These are not to give G forces that gymnasts use for doing stunts but jsut for having fun in the back yard. You can like learn to do the same things you can on a trampoline made for gymnasts. These are all about play time. They won't give you so much acceleration to really do much other than chill out on. Totally not for professional use.
They aren't sturdy and have low carbon steel and just low of everything but as long as people don't use them like they would with a professional trampoline, it should be fine.
Those looking for just fun and kids who are not going to jump so high don't need high end springs just yet, they probably won't even care. I've seen kids on cheap trampolines and they don't care, they just wanna bounce. Usually kids 14 and up tend to outgrow the recreational trampoline and want something better, especially if moving to a new house and they have experienced one of their freinds who has a better one. Usually the kid begs their parents to get a different one like their friends. I know this cuz parents first say that their childs friends parents have this or that brand and they ask me what I think of that brand.
The recreational trampolines are a step above the cheap trampolines. I do not put the cheap trampolines in this category although the cheap ones can be used recreationally. The difference is that the recreational trampolines are just not labeled for gymnastic or professional use and those who buy recreational trampolines don't use them like they would a professional one. The trampoline and its springs and frame structure won't allow it.
Take the General Trampoline (Recreation) quiz. It helps.
